Did I dress as Kitten Girl for Halloween? Yes. Did I go to the grocery store, purchase wine and milk and greet everyone with “Good evening, citizen”? Yes. Am I obnoxiously pleased with myself for doing so? Absolutely 100%

If I could make time, I’d give myself days on end to just do this.

Homophobic corporations are on their last leg of existence in this world. The love and hope two fictional characters have brought the gay community as well as all equality supporters alike is absolutely breathtaking. Their impact is making such a difference in the world, and it’s all going to lead to a monumental change. Do not underestimate the power of something truly beautiful, honest, and real.

It’s not just the inequality of discrimination and homophobia that bothers me. It’s stifling such beauty, such inspiration, for such a stupid fucking reason. For two characters to be such wonderful role models for PEOPLE everywhere- not gay or straight people but PEOPLE, young and old, male and female- and to be neglected and shunned by the media; It is not just disgusting, it makes me sad. Two characters who bring such hope and light to the hearts of so many and have so much to give us, being stifled by the very society that they outshine on the scale of what makes a good person. All because they are something that makes the world uncomfortable. Two people, two individuals who are so inspiring- not only for the beautiful nature of their relationship, but for who they are on their OWN- brushed aside because they’re two gay men. It’s sickening. It makes me fucking sick to my stomach to see what this society’s priorities are. Instead of focusing on what unbelievable good such characters can bring us,all that seems to matter is the fact it isn’t coming in the “right” package. To see something so fucking beautiful that can bring us so much in this world brushed aside because we are too focused on GENDER and IMAGE is absolutely INFURIATING. If we as humans continue to be so preoccupied with such shallow aspects, then we will never grow, and we will never truly love each other, and we will never be one. Such talk of “unity” and “justice for all” is outright laughable when all anyone sees is how a person looks.

Which, by the way, can’t even be chosen, which obviously makes it a perfect basis for judging who someone is as a person. What if you were a woman born in a man’s body, or someone with a slow metabolism, or someone with down’s syndrome? What if YOU were the one that didn’t fit into society’s image of a person who actually matters?

Think of that. Think where you’d be if you hadn’t been so lucky with your god damned genetics before you go shooting people down for how they look or who they love or what they believe in.
